2. 3 Hammers Course in West Midlands
In 1964, Sir Henry Cotton designed the midlands golf complex that still exists to this day. But, don’t think that the course is outdated. It recently underwent a makeover worth thousands of dollars, done by Hawtree Design.
What does it offer today?
Today, this course is an 18-hole Par-3 hub with holes that go up to 122 yards and start from only 45, which makes it perfect for your training sessions. It’s a place where you can get started and grow in golf. There is also a 3 Hammers driving range with a teaching academy if you need a bit of a change!
3. We-Ko-Pa Saguaro Course in Scottsdale Arizona
If you are close to Arizona, you are in great luck – there’s another amazing course for you to visit here! This spot is good for beginner and professional golf players. It’s located in the Sonoran Desserts and boasts with a majestic landscape. While you play, you can watch the mountain curves and the ‘four peaks’, which is what We-Ko-Pa means.
This is a rather new course having opened in 2006 and it’s been designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. It has a traditional setting, but some of the green patches will definitely test your skill – they are curvy and entertaining.
4. Betws-y-coed Course in North Wales
Great Britain has some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, and this is definitely one of them. It’s a nine-hole track with a Snowdonia backdrop. In it, you’ll find 18 tees with 5 par fours and 4 par-threes. You can spend your time there practicing golf while enjoying the amazing view of the Conwy Valley. The fees are very affordable and the field is perfect for novice golfers.
5. Retreat Course in Sea Island Georgia
Next on our list is the Retreat Course, a modern, yet somewhat traditional location with a great variety for golfers. You’ll see sand bunkers spread across the green fields colliding with contours that are more challenging as you move around.
This course was inspired by the 1928 original nine-hole course by Walter Travis. It’s now home to championships such as PGA tours.
6. Old Course in St. Andrews Scotland
Finally, we have the oldest course in our list – one that was renamed back in 1896. It’s a trending destination for golfers and the place where the first ever golf game was played back in the 15th century.
Keep in mind that the Old Course is one of the most known courses worldwide, so it can be crowded and hard to get to. Even so, it fits beginner golfers thanks to its many options set across 1520 yards.
How to Book Tee Times
If you are lucky or pick a course that is almost always empty, you can show up without a tee time – but this is not a very smart idea. If you want to save some time and make the best out of the experience, it’s always good to book ahead.
Your options for booking tee times are:
1. By phone. You can find contact information on every golf course online, and reach out to them via phone directly.
2. Online. Online tee sheets are always open, so you won’t have to wait for working hours to book your tee time. Modern courses have calendars where you can directly book and see what’s available, too.

Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
