Henderson enjoyed a successful amateur career, which culminated in winning the 2013 Canadian Women's Amateur championship and a runner-up finish in the 2014 US Women's Amateur. She turned professional in December 2014, aged 17, securing her first LPGA Tour win in the 2015 Portland Classic, which she won by an impressive eight shots.
18-year-old Henderson firmly underlined her golfing credentials with her first major championship win in 2016, in which she beat World No.1 Lydia Ko in a playoff for the Women's PGA Championship title. In addition to the steady stream of LPGA Tour wins that followed, a further major championship success came in 2022 at the Evian Championship.
