After turning professional in 1991, Bickerton did not become a consistent member of the European Tour until 1998. After 287 starts and several second-place finishes he eventually recorded his maiden European Tour win in 2005. A year later he recorded his second European Tour win at the French Open, one of the Tour's richest and oldest events.
