Did you know?

McNamara, one of America's leading professionals in the early 1900s, held a number of head professional appointments during his career. These included Wollaston GC, Fall River CC, and Siwanoy CC in Bronxville, NY. He is credited with suggesting the concept of a national tournament for professional golfers to his boss Rodman Wanamaker, which led to the first edition of the PGA Championship in 1916. It was played at Siwanoy.
