Did you know?

In a very successful amateur career Zalatoris attended and played golf for Wake Forest University in North Carolina (the "Demon Deacons"). Among many prestigious amateur honours, he won the 2014 US Junior Amateur Championship. In 2017 he played in the successful USA Walker Cup team, and was also named that year's Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year.

Having turned professional in 2018, Zalatoris shot to prominence with his second place finish in the 2021 Masters Tournament. He followed this with further major championship runner-up performances in 2022, in the PGA Championship (losing in a playoff to Justin Thomas) and in the US Open (losing by 1 shot to England's Matt Fitzpatrick). His first PGA Tour win came in the FedEx St Jude Championship, hot on the heels of his near-winning performances in the 2022 majors.
