The Masters Tournament (77th) (April 11-14). Scott (Aus) beat Angel Cabrera (Arg) with a birdie at the second playoff hole (par-4 10th) to become the first Australian to win the Masters Tournament. [Augusta National GC, Augusta, GA].

The Open Championship (142nd) (July 18-21). Second-placed Henrik Stenson (Swe) finished 3 shots behind Mickelson (USA), whose 5-under-par 66 in the final round ensured he was the only player to finish the championship below par. This was Mickelson's fifth major championship victory. Having won the Scottish Open a week earlier it also gave him back-to-back wins. Second-placed Jason Day (Aus) and Phil Mickelson (USA) finished 2 shots behind first-time major championship winner Rose (Eng), the first Briton to win this event in 43 years. Mickelson, celebrating his 43rd birthday on the final day, finished second for the sixth time in the US Open. [East Course, Merion GC, Ardmore, nr Philadelphia, PA].

The US PGA Championship (95th) (Aug 8-11). Second-placed Jim Furyk (USA) finished 2 shots behind Dufner (USA), who claimed his first major championship win. [East Course, Oak Hill CC, Pittsford, Rochester, NY].
Chevron Championship: Carlton Woods near Houston in Texas provides the stage for the first women’s major championship of 2025, where Nelly Korda defends her title. (April 24-27).
Soudal Open: successor to the Belgian Open, the Soudal Open takes place on the quiet, wooded North course of Rinkven Golfclub. Belgian stars Thomas Pieters and Nicolas Colsaerts will be vying for top honours. (May 22-25).
Rory McIlroy: with his 2025 win in The Masters, Rory joined the pantheon of golfing greats who have achieved a career Grand Slam of men’s majors ... Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the only others in this select band.
Bernhard Langer: he may have played in his last Masters Tournament, but the 67-year-old German will be trying to extend his own record, and win a 13th senior major title at the 36th Regions Tradition. (May 15-18).
