In the final round, after a disastrous triple-bogey 7 at the par-4 17th, Korda immediately rallied to birdie the par-4 18th twice, first to get into the playoff and then to win it. Second-placed Lizette Salas (USA) finished 3 shots behind 22-year-old Nelly Korda (USA), who recorded her first major championship win, and second LPGA Tour win in as many weeks. Olympic Games Women's Individual golf event (3rd) (Aug 4-7; Summer Olympic Games XXXII). 23-year-old World No.1 Nelly Korda (USA; gold medal) finished 1 shot ahead of Mone Inami (Jpn; silver) and defending champion Lydia Ko (NZ; bronze).
