From 2005 to 2007 Gal attended college in the United States at the University of Florida in Gainesville. She played for the Florida "Gators" women's golf team, winning four NCAA events, and receiving All-American honours in 2007. In her fourth season on the LPGA Tour, Gal won her first event at the 2011 Kia Classic.
