In the 2019/20 season, Scheffler took the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year honours. He also joined another elite club in August 2020, shooting only the 12th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history. This incredible feat was recorded with a 12-under-par 59 in the second round of the The Northern Trust tournament at TPC Boston. His round was the joint second-lowest in PGA Tour history, Jim Furyk having posted a 58 in 2016.
His first three PGA Tour wins came in the space of just five PGA Tour starts in February and March 2022. The wins culminated in him becoming the 25th player to reach the Official World Golf Ranking No.1 spot. He became the ninth player from the USA to hold the No.1 title, and the sixth youngest in the ranking's history.
Just two weeks after his crowning as the world's No.1, Scheffler made it four wins in six PGA Tour starts. He took the 2022 Masters Tournament and with it his first major championship win.

24-year-old Scottie Scheffler (USA) won the PGA Tour 2019-20 Rookie of the Year Award (Arnold Palmer Award) as the leading first-season player, based on the votes of his peers. He finished 5th on the final FedEx Cup standings, and 22nd on the Tour's money list with earnings of $2,833,438.
Tournament of Champions: the PGA Tour’s calendar-year starts, as it has done since 1999, with this iconic event in Hawaii. The field is drawn from players who won a PGA Tour event in 2022, or were amongst the top 30 in last year’s FedEx Cup final standings (Jan 6-9).
Desert Swing: the European (DP World) Tour launches into 2023 with three events in its UAE “Desert Swing”. Up first is the Abu Dhabi Championship (Jan 19-22), followed by the Dubai Desert Classic (Jan 26-29) and the Ras Al Kaimah Championship (Feb 2-5).
