The son of golf professional Jeff Hatton, Tyrrell is one of the established stars of the European Tour. After a solid amateur career playing at both county and country level, he turned professional in 2011. With a 10th place finish on the Challenge Tour for the 2013 season, he qualified to play the 2014 season on the full European Tour, recording his first win on the Tour in 2016 on the Old Course, St Andrews. Further significant wins followed in 2017, as well as a move into the Top 20 on the official world golf rankings.
Known for a fiery on-course temperament in his early days on Europe's premier professional tour, Hatton's behaviour seems to have calmed as his success on the tour has grown.

Individual event: second-placed Sam Horsfield (Eng) finished 6 shots behind Tyrrell Hatton (Eng), who won his first individual LIV title.
Team event: second-placed Crushers team (-35; Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, Anirban Lahiri) finished 5 shots behind the Legion XIII team (-40; Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt, Kieran Vincent), who shared the $3 million team first prize.

124th US Open: the No.2 Course at Pinehurst once again plays host to this most illustrious championship (June 13-16). Wyndham Clark defends his title, having won at Los Angeles CC in 2023.
79th Women’s US Open: the second women’s major championship of the season gets underway at Lancaster CC in Pennsylvania. It’s the second time the championship has been held here.

Nelly Korda: won the Mizuho Americas Open (May 16-19) at Liberty National GC, continuing her extraordinary form in LPGA events. This was her sixth win in seven starts in 2024.
Xander Schauffele: recorded his first major championship win, and second record-equalling low score of 62 in a major. Only he, Branden Grace, Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry have achieved this feat in a men’s major championship.
