Did you know?

After a successful amateur career, Alcott turned professional in 1975. Her first LPGA Tour win came in just her third start as a professional, which led to her winning the 1975 LPGA Rookie of the Year award. During the ensuing years, Alcott amassed 29 LPGA Tour wins, including five major championships.

Alcott's tally of majors included three wins in the Nabisco Dinah Shore (1983, 1988 and 1991). In 1988, she started the tournament's tradition of the winner making a celebratory leap into a greenside lake. After retiring from competitive tour golf, Alcott became involved in course design, and is a member of the team designing the 2016 Olympic course in Rio de Janeiro.
