Roll of Honour

MAJORS (1): Kraft Nabisco Championship (2014). Curtis Cup player (2010); Solheim Cup player (2013, '15, '17, '19, '21). Multiple wins on the LPGA and Ladies European tours.

Did you know?

After turning professional in 2010 aged 15, Thompson continued her meteoric rise in golf. In 2007, aged 12, she had already become the youngest golfer to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open, and in 2008 had won the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.

As a professional, aged 16, she became the youngest ever winner of an LPGA Tour event, the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic. A few months later she captured the Dubai Ladies Masters, becoming the second youngest golfer to win a Ladies European Tour event. In winning the 2014 Kraft Nabsico Championship she became the second youngest woman golfer to capture a major championship title.

Her second major championship looked all but assured in the 2017 ANA Inspiration, until she was hit with a four-shot penalty on the 12th green on the final day. The penalty, which took her from a two shot lead to a two shot deficit, was for an unintentional and inconsequential rule "infringement" that occured on the previous day. The "infringement" was not picked-up by anyone at the event, but was spotted by a hyperactive armchair TV viewer. Thompson fought back from the bizarrely imposed penalty, but eventually lost to the Korean So-yeon Ryu at the first sudden-death playoff hole.
