Did you know?

Martin Kaymer continues to live in Germany, not far from his birthplace of Düsseldorf in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In 2022, aged 37, Kaymer was enticed onto Greg Norman's "rebel" LIV Golf series. Bankrolled by Saudi Arabia, this breakaway rival to the main international tours offered massive prize funds, guaranteed payouts and, for some, eye-watering signing-on bonuses. With two major championships to his name but no recent main tour wins, Kaymer joined LIV Golf alongside a few notable but "ageing" golf stars, and an abundance of lower-ranked "unknowns".
