The son of an All-Ireland winning Gaelic footballer, Shane Lowry took the golfing world by storm in 2009 when he triumphed as a 22-year-old amateur, playing in his first ever European Tour event. Further European Tour and PGA Tour wins followed in 2012 and 2015,

Lowry's career moved into the highest echelons of golfing achievement in 2019. After winning the Abu Dhabi Championship in January of 2019, Lowry thrilled the home crowds with victory in The Open in July ... an Open Championship played for the first time in 68 years on the island of Ireland.
