Roll of Honour

Walker Cup player (1995). Ryder Cup player (2014). Multiple wins on the European Tour.

Did you know?

The nephew of Ryder Cup legend Bernard Gallacher, Stephen took up golf at an early age. He played in the victorious 1995 Walker Cup side at Royal Porthcawl, winning both his singles matches by comfortable margins. Later that year he joined golf's professional ranks.

Gallacher made his debut on the European Tour in 1996, but did not record his first win until 2004. In October of that year he prevailed over Graeme McDowell in a playoff to take the Dunhill Links Championship on the Old Course, St Andrews. It took another 201 tournaments before Gallacher won for the second time; again it was at one of the Tour's richest events, the 2013 Dubai Desert Classic. In 2014 he successfully defended this title, and had several other top 10 finishes. These no doubt contributed to his wild-card selection by captain Paul McGinley for the 2014 Ryder Cup team.
