Did you know?

Born to Hungarian immigrants, Boros initially combined a successful amateur golf career with a full-time job as an accountant. After turning professional at the age of 29 in 1949, Boros embarked on a highly successful career that brought him three major championship titles, a total of 18 PGA Tour wins and four Ryder Cup appearances. He was a two-time PGA Tour leading money winner and PGA Tour player of the Year.

As a 48-year old, Boros won the 1968 PGA Championship, in the process becoming the oldest winner of a modern major championship title. Throughout his career Boros was noted for his relaxed swing, the product of his own maxim "swing easy, hit hard". He also possessed a fabulous short game and rarely wasted any time in sizing-up putts. Boros died of a fatal heart attack, which occurred while golfing close to home in Florida.
