Did you know?

Broadhurst's successful amateur career culminated in winning the Silver Medal as the lowest scoring amateur in the 1988 Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes. He turned professional later that year and joined the European Tour in 1989. An early win in the Cannes Open and other good finishes saw him crowned the European Tour Rookie of the Year in 1989. Five further European Tour wins followed, the last two coming in the 2005 and 2006 Portuguese Opens.

At the 119th Open Championship played on the Old Course, St Andrews, Broadhurst shot a 9-under par 63, the lowest scoring round in relation to par in Open Championship history.

A win on debut in the Scottish Senior Open led to Broadhurst becoming the European Senior Tour's Rookie of the Year for 2015. The following year another win on debut, this time in The Senior Open at Carnoustie, gave him a first major championship title. It also tipped the scales for him to be voted the Champions Tour Rookie of the Year for 2016.
